Wow Steph! Another terrific zine!!!!! I'm so proud of you!!! I find your writing style to be so unique and special. To me..., it's the world..., just like you are! Love You!!
I read the zine during nap-time as promised, and fell in love with it like I have fallen in love with your writing since, well, since the beginning of time... (seems like it, doesn't it?) I especially loved that it was centered around your move considering I had just spent the morning in your world.
While I loved it all, "Getting Started" was my favourite because of its voice and honesty (it's been a while since I got to use the "voice" word). I think everyone can relate to the challenge of getting started on some level. It looks so delicious with the pictures of your apartment, your neighborhood and the old times.
How cool was it that you were reviewed?
Thanks again for a lovely issue and a great morning. It was so nice spending all of that time with you. Ella loved it too!
Can't wait for the next one (although I really loved the paper copy- hint, hint).
The Rose was my supervisor. Her head is surrounded by a halo of gauzy, grey hair. She wears boxy, red blazers. She bears an uncanny resemblance to Margaret Atwood.
The Peacock was one of my teachers. Disorganized and perpetually late, she would come to class in a dizzy whirl of pashmina--out of breath after hustling in her Birkenstocks. She made up for these faults with her British accent. That, and she kind of reminded me of my Gran.
Editor-in-chief. Well, it's easy to get the flashy job title when it is your zine. But, that is the beauty of it. I am the head writer, photographer, artist and cutter-and-paster.
